A 306-room outlet in the medium-sized Park Plaza chain, this hotel features two connected halves. Built in 1890, the corner Victoria Wing offers few remnants of the original hotel but is marked by high ceilings and woody warmth in the classic Amsterdam style, due for renovation in 2014. By contrast the Urban Wing – a 1988 reconfiguration of previous houses and businesses and updated in 2011 – offers a cool, modern fix. Ever so conveniently located a minute or so from Central Station, the Warmoesstraat and the Zeedijk. Pricier sibling the WestCord City Centre Hotel Amsterdam (formerly WestCord Art Hotel) opened in 2013, just around the corner at Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 50.
