A haven of style and individuality perched above the Geldersekade canal, Mauro Mansion is a 16th-century canal house made gay and good by locals Berry and Marcel, who want to provide a "sincere non-intrusive local experience based on your individual needs". Spread across three floors, some quieter than others, the nine rooms have a sexy-designer thing going on in their sense of swish faux-minimalism. The black rubber flooring in some of the rooms recalls previous SM hotel occupants the Black Tulip (1997–2010). No children under 12. Not cheap, but it's awfully nice, and located within inches of the Zeedijk and Warmoesstraat for those so inclined. Opened June 2010. Phone number provided upon registration.

Our 9 rooms are a blend of vintage and design, comfort and fun, electric and funky and come with free wifi, coffee/tea facilities, TV and dvd player, small safe, fan, wake-up light, 'Rituals' bathroom amenities, bathroom floor heating, hairdryer and a fridge with welcome drinks.

Except for rooms 11 and 12, all rooms can only be reached by walking up steep stairs.
Only rooms 22, 23, 32 have the option for twin beds.
Only room 23 can accommodate 3 persons (using the couch bed).
