Somewhat gay hotel
A welcoming nine-room, part-gay-run establishment with a gay history going back to the 1970s under previous owner Herman, whose then-named West End Hotel offered the gay traveller a reliable, budget and basic experience. Under new ownership the hotel reopened in 2001, reinvented with modernised facilities and overseen by a dedicated and on-site team of four men. Current (straight) owner Klaas, who heads a part-gay team, upgraded the hotel with a radical makeover in early 2018.

Two neighbouring and impressive B&B rooms, including an open attic option, also feature. Prices are near-budget and include a generous self-service breakfast, eggs and all, available until a gay-friendly 12 noon. The ground-floor breakfast room replaces the popular late-20th-century Cosmo Bar. The location is another bonus, and each room is fitted with a smart TV. The hotel no longer defines itself as gay-specific. The name translates as 'friendship' in Spanish.
