Tube
Mile End underground station is on the Central and District lines. The Central Line runs all night on Fridays and Saturdays as part of the Night Tube service.
Bus
Mile End is on the route of the 25 and N205 buses, which run all night.
Taxi
We can order a taxi for you when you leave, to collect you at the door.
Parking
The best place to park is on one of the residential streets on the north side of Mile End Road. On most of the streets in the area, you only need a permit during office hours.
Hotels
We don’t have any specific recommendations about where to stay. But if you’re visiting from outside London, you’ll find plenty of chain hotels in nearby Bethnal Green, Stratford and Canary Wharf.

The UK’s longest-running gay leather & fetish club. Now in its 30th year, The Backstreet’s door policy is as strict as ever, earning the respect and continued patronage of those who are dedicated to rubber and leather.
Don’t even think of wearing trainers or slacks. Leather or rubber should be the most prominent part of your outfit – although tee shirts and denim may play supporting roles!
Open Thursdays to Sundays with special events: BLUF and IGNITE (for smokers). Entrance is located along a path leading off Burdett Road.
We’ve been here since 1985. We’re London’s longest-running leather bar, right in the heart of the East End.
The Backstreet is a place for gay men who are into leather or rubber. Our strict dress code has made us famous, and over the years we’ve become an institution among leather and rubber men worldwide. There’s nowhere else quite like us.
What to expect
We’re definitely about cruising. But we’re about community too. The Backstreet is widely known for being friendly and sociable – as well as horny and atmospheric.
At the club you’ll find:

space to change into your gear
private outdoor smoking area
large cruising area
We give out free condoms and lube.
We have a strict no-drugs policy.

Membership costs £25 a year, and it’s free if you’re under 25 – just bring proof of age. You don’t have to have membership to come into the club. But as a member, you get reduced-price entry on any of our leather/rubber nights, which includes the night you join.
We only sell membership at the door. It isn’t available to buy online.
Our dress code is among the strictest of its kind. It’s made The Backstreet famous among leather and rubber men worldwide.
We take the dress code seriously. It’s the main reason our customers come here. And that’s why we don’t make exceptions.
Leather or rubber
So if you’re in full leather uniform, chaps and a harness, or a rubber one-piece body suit, that’s perfect. But leather jeans with a cotton t-shirt is fine too. Or you can cut it to the bare minimum – say, with a rubber jock and boots.
